Seeing as Tsukihime’s Party Manager script doesn’t seem to want to work with one the other scripts I’m using, I’m forced to rewrite how I will introduce Xing Mei and Xiao Haun.
They are the second couple of Pretty Witch Academy. I think a little introduction is necessary.
Xing Mei (left) and Xiao Haun (right) are freshmen of the Star Dorm and a childhood friends who became lovers in middle school. They are not native to Yurishima, hailing as far as China. Their relationship can be summed up as the gentle giant and the fun size bully hunter. They first became friends in elementary school where Xing Mei often got bullied for being taller than most of her peers and Xiao Haun beat them up. Not much changed now that they’re in high school.
Class: Gentle Giant
Soul Burst: Not So Spineless
Proficient with bows and wind magic, Xing Mei may come off as intimidating at first due to being taller than most of her classmates, but is one of the nicest girls you will meet, if not quite spineless and meek. While not necessarily book smart, she excels at sports, causing her to be placed in the star dorm. She seeks to become a witch knight and protect the island of Yurishima, but she must overcome her own flaws.
Soul Burst: Sugar Rush
Proficient with her own fists and thunder magic, Xiao Haun may look harmless at first, but she can pack quite a punch. Because she too often sleeps in and has too much energy to sit still for long, her grades suffer. However, her energy is unmatched and inhuman strength were worthy of enough of housing her in the Star Dorm with lover, Xing Mei. A girl with a strong sense of justice, she can’t stand watching others get pushed around and is prone to getting into fights. She often refers to Xing Mei as her “qizi” (wife) despite neither of them being old enough to be able to marry in Yurishima.
What’s a Soul Burst?
Remember the skills from the first demo that required 100 SOL to use? They’ve been officially named Soul Burst. A Soul Burst is a skill that is only accessible when one’s soul has reached their breaking point and usually grants the user a boost a three stats, both major (WPN, ARM, HTR, LOV, SWF, and FRT) and minor (HIT, CRI, EVA, CEV, CNT, etc…). Some examples include Aika’s Skirt Chaser (doubles WPN, ARM and MOV until end of battle), Shizuka’s Power of Love (doubles HTR, LOV and SWF until end of battle), Xing Mei’s Not So Spineless (doubles WPN, SWF and CRI until end of battle), and Xiao Haun’s (doubles WPN, SWF and EVA until end of battle).
…um, what do all those initials mean?
Master, if you don’t mind…
Go ahead, Cariend.
There are eight major stats in Pretty Witch Academy:
Body (BDY): The amount of damage a character can take before “dying”. The default term used by RPG Maker VX Ace is HP or HIt Points.
Mind (MND): The amount of energy a character can spend to use skills. The default term used by RPG Maker VX ACE is MP or Magic Points.
Weapon (WPN): The amount of damage a character deals with physical attacks. The default term used by RPG Maker VX Ace is ATK or Attack.
Armor (ARM): The amount of damage a character can resist from a physical attack before losing BDY. The default term used by RPG Maker VX ACE is DEF or Defense.
Hatred (HTR): The amount of damage a character deals with magical attacks. The default term used by RPG Maker VX Ace is MAT or Magical Attack.
Love (LOV): The amount of damage a character can resist from a magical attack before losing BDY. The default term used by RPG Maker VX is MDF or Magical Defense. It is also the stat currently used to determine the amount of BDY is restored with healing magic.
Swiftness (SWF): In the normal combat system that comes with RPG Maker VX Ace, it determines the order that allies and enemies act, but since Tomaoky’s SRPG 2 script uses Team Combat, it doesn’t have an all purpose use. Presently relegated to determining damage with bows, guns and blades (both light and heavy). The default term used by RPG Maker VX Ace is AGI or Agility.
Fortune (FRT): Determines the likely hood a Character can resist negative status effects, but otherwise is useless. May be changed to the stat that governs healing magic to make it more useful. The default term used by RPG Maker VX Ace is LUK or Luck.
Soul (SOL): An unofficial ninth stat, it’s an amount of energy generated by dealing and taking damage, accumulating over the course of battle. The default term used by RPG Maker VX Ace is TP or Technical Points.
There are plenty of minor stats also:
Move (MOV): Added by Tomaoky’s SRPG 2 script, it determines how far a character can move in a turn.
Hit (HIT): Determines a character’s ability to hit with attacks.
Evasion (EVA): Determines a character’s ability to evade attacks.
Critical Rate (CRI): Determines a character’s chance to score a critical hit.
Critical Evasion (CEV): Determines a character’s chance to evade critical hits.
Magic Evasion (MEV): Determines a character’s chance to evade magical attacks.
Magic Reflection (MRF): Determines a character’s chance of reflecting magical attacks back its user.
Counter (CNT): Determines a character’s chance of counter attacking a character’s physical attack.
HP Regeneration (HPR): Renamed Regen Body, it determines how much of a Character’s BDY she regains each turn/step taken.
MP Regeneration (MPR): Renamed Regen Mind, it determines how much of a Character’s MND she regains each turn/step taken.
TP Regeneration (TPR): Renamed Regen Soul, it determines how much of a Character’s SOL she regains each turn/step taken.
Haven’t heard from you in a long time.
I prefer to keep quiet and watch Master work. I’m afraid that I’ve already used up many words to explain something so simple. Please forgive me, Master.
It’s okay, Cariend. I needed a means to pad this post. I’ll try to get the second demo ready as quickly as possibly! Until then, I’ll post little tidbits about the setting and characters.
